Brownfield Cleanup Program Goal
Brownfields are abandoned, idled, or underused properties where the expansion, redevelopment, or reuse may be complicated by the presence or potential presence of a hazardous substance, pollutant, or contaminant.  Examples include former gas stations, dry cleaners, factories, warehouses, and other industrial or commercial sites.  

The goal of the Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) is to encourage private-sector cleanups of brownfields and to promote their redevelopment as a means to revitalize economically blighted communities. The BCP is an alternative to greenfield development and is intended to remove some of the barriers to, and provide tax incentives for, the redevelopment of urban brownfields.

June 2026:  Please participate in the Online Survey (Town Brownfield Map included)!  Your input matters for future development, community improvements, and priorities for the Town within the BOA.
